Important instruction for Internet Explorer Users:
During your use of this course, you will be asked to open a number of Microsoft Excel® workbooks. When an Excel file is opened from a web page hyperlink, Internet Explorer normally opens it in its own window, instead of invoking Microsoft Excel. This is true for other Microsoft Office documents too (Microsoft Word® and PowerPoint® documents).
This needs to be changed by adjusting settings on your computer. The procedure is different for different versions of Microsoft Windows. Choose the Windows version which you use from the links below.
Double-click My Computer.
On the View menu, click Options
(or Folder Options).
Click the File Types tab. A list of file types will come up:
In the Registered file types list,
click the Microsoft Excel Worksheet file type, and then click Edit.
In
the Edit dialog box, make sure the "Browse in same window"
box is not checked.
Click OK.
Double-click My Computer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
Click the File Types tab. A list of file types will come up:
In the Registered file types list,
click the Microsoft Excel Worksheet file type, and then click Advanced.
In the Advanced dialog box,
make sure the "Browse in same window" box is not
checked.
Click OK.
